After a lot of rain, the weather finally cooperated today. We passed by CKS Memorial again, so I decided to take some nicer pictures.

The National Concert Hall.

Changing of the gurads.

We took advantage of the subway system in Taipei (the color-coding reminds me of the Boston subway system, though the cost of the Taipei subway isn't fixed).
We wanted to stop by the Taipei 101 while it's still the world's tallest building. I think either Dubai or Shanghai has something in the works to beat the height. The first 5 floors and basement of the Taipei 101 is basically a high-end mall.

Outside the Taipei 101.

From the mall across the street.

Random interesting-looking building.
We bought tickets to the observation deck in the evening. Too bad it's only to the 89th floor, but the elevator ride took less than 40 seconds. They claim that it's the world's fastest elevator.

View of Taipei city from way up there.

This is what a 660 metric ton ball looks like.

The elevator display.

Another shot of the ceiling as we were leaving the building.
