Pictures of the Day 6/7

Since baby pictures are so amusing, I thought that I'd put up more. And since I'm trying to be more of a equal opportunist poster, I'll put some of my pictures up. :รพ

Me, so young that they gotta bundle me up to keep me upright for a picture.

My Zoolander-Magnum look

Chillin' in my ride, Flintstone style.

Robert: I can't hold this pose anymore Ma, I gotta go pee.
Amy: Can I gnaw on that?

Jenny: Westsiiiide!
(twice as cool as the Asian V)

Pictures of the Day 5/7

Irene commented on how the picture of the Charles river I posted brought back some painful memories. Somehow I was reminded of the final project Ed, Chia, and I did for 6.111 Digital Lab (AKA Digital Death). It sure was painful, but the end result was very rewarding. Definitely the most time-consuming A I've ever earned. This was also the class where I had countless "hot dates" with my nerd kit.

If you think debugging code was horrible, you should try debugging crazy wires going all over the place. I remember spending most of a day debugging for one of our lab assignments (checking the wiring and signals and whatnot individually), only to find that a single broken wire was causing my entire project to fail miserably. One end of a wire was broken, after being inserted into the circuit board. It looked like it was connected, but there was actually no connection. Grrrr.... Anyway, I digress.

For our final project, we decided to build a fighting game involving Lego robots.

Our standard issue "Nerd Kits" X 4, plus 19 spindles' worth of wires, and countless nights of wiring and debugging. This is our system, allowing two players to each control a robot using a SNES controller... complete with a video status display and sound effects.

My nerd kit, which dealt with the processing of the SNES controller input and the signals to be used for controlling the robots.

Group photo. We were just happy that the project was over.

Pictures of the Day 4/7

Today's pictures are just... weird.

One of the inherent benefits of being in the engineering profession.

A double double double double (2^4) that would induce instant heart attack. MMMM...

Pictures of the Day 3/7

I want to go back to Japan and explore some more. It's just so clean over there... suits my slightly OCD tastes perfectly. Here are some pictures I took when I went during cherry blossom season last spring.

The gardens are great.

There's plenty of cultural/historic stuff to look at.

Even the cities are beautiful.

And of course, the food!

Pictures of the Day 2/7

Guess who? =)

Guess who else?

Hahaha. They're pictures of my sisters from like the 80s (dude.. that's a long time ago). I just think these pictures are so hilariously cute. They're probably kill me for this.

Amy: "Hehe, I get a new toy"
Jenny: "Where the hell am I??"

Slightly older, not much wiser.

The money shot!

Pictures of the Day 1/7

I guess this week will be "Picture Week". I'll try to post some interesting pictures everyday.

I really liked this jellyfish picture I took from Monterey Aquarium.

Shot of Boston from my MIT dorm room during senior year.

Random road sign I saw in Killington, VT.

Fireworks in Boston

Was sorting through some files and found these pictures that I took during 4th of July fireworks in Boston three years ago. Yep, Boston has awesome fireworks. Watching the fireworks there was like watching something wonderful explode constantly. My fireworks experience in Oakland this year felt like maybe part of it was outsourced to India or something.

Enough is enough

To all the people waging "wars" out there: Violence only leads to more violence, hatred, pain, and suffering. Dude, just like.... chill.

Spud Trooper

Yeah baby.

Taken from here.

Tired

Sooo tired. I don't know why. I think it's from all the work at work and all the crap I had to deal with lately.... and the lack of sleep and basketball. After this whole moving ordeal is over, I need a month-long hibernation period.... A/C + Chopin/Rach + 2 liter bottles of passion fruit green tea. =)

Going on sabbatical

So I'll be going on a sabbatical (from the Internet) for the next 10 days or so. Those retards at SBC already canned my DSL connection on Wednesday evening, instead of waiting until next week, like they were supposed to. As a result, I will have no access to Internet. Since I'm taking next week off, no Internet from work either. Once I move in, I don't know how long it will be before those idiots are able to set up my new line with DSL. Sigh..... %@*@!$*% >_< Call me. =)

7/04/2005

Hmmm

Something to ponder about.... I've been asked twice in the past three weeks whether I was married to the person I happened to be sitting next to at the time. Is it a normal thing for people to just assume that a guy and a girl are married if they're sitting together? Um... I don't see any rings.... hello!?!?

Okay, so the first time happened at a wedding, which I guess I could "somewhat" understand... okay... not really. But the second time was just at a restaurant, and they didn't even ask if we were dating before asking if we were married. And it's weird how both people happened to share the same name. What a coinkydink.

This also brings up another issue. I've been hanging out with many of my friends of the female persuasion over the years. Never have I been asked if I was married to any one of them until this past month. What the hell? Do I suddenly look that much older (okay, maybe mature is a better word to use here). I must be working waaaaay too hard lately.

Note to self: 4th of July fireworks is much better in Boston. Nothing in the bay area comes close.
